Many times when faced with “not knowing”, we find ourselves striving to figure things out. We want to know situations will work out in the best way or we want to know how to go ahead in decisions or important steps. We find comfort that God not only knows, but is active in the details of our lives. He cares greatly. Being outside of time, God is involved in our lives based on what He sees in the future. His desires the best for us, even fulfilling prophetic words that insure the unfolding His will and purpose for our lives.
I was talking with a friend today who is praying about several decisions and wanting to know the Lord’s will in each one. Feeling pressed for time, he said, “The King isn’t telling me yet what I need to know.”
My first thought was about how much Jesus loves my friend. I replied that Jesus wants him to press his ear against His chest so that while he listens to His heart, Jesus can give him a hug at the same time. We forget that our Lord is much more interested in our knowing Him intimately than in just giving us information. God always desires intimacy with us first. Decisions and comfort and peace ride atop a lifting of love when we draw near to the Father. I am so glad for that kind of God, who loves me like a Father loves His child.
