I stand behind the curtain
waiting. Peaking out and waiting for the crowd to diminish
to a comfortable number.
The microphone beckons as the spotlight shines
center stage. I will walk out confidently when
the time is right. Timing must always be right.
I will sing softly at first,
then raise my voice so that even the people in the
street will hear.
It will bring healing change, and then
I will go home until next time.
I am a song bird that announces love, seeds, & clean sky.
I am a shy voice being strengthened to
trumpet truth and watch the sound wash over the created.
“My heart overflows with a beautiful theme!
I recite my composition concerning the King.” Psalm 45:1
“The Lord gives the word of power; the women who bear and publish the news are a great host.” Psalm 68:11

Thank you, Michael McDade. Some poems reveal secrets of the heart. Keep your heart transparent, as you do, and people will be blessed.

I so agree with your comment about the right time. We spend half of our time looking at the outside timing, but sometimes the inside timing matters a lot too.

It’s when I stare at the outside timing that my feet move ahead of His because I’m so sure I’m ready. When I listen to what He is whispering on the inside, I know He cares so very much for the healing and growth there. I’d rather wait to sing than sing too soon. I also won’t be surprised if He hands me the mic when I least expect it!

The point of this poem is that a voice is being strengthened. Timing yes, but value and smallness, humility embraced, glorify the One. That is the point. That is strength, gifting unwrapped and handed to Him.

Timing…so difficult at times when impetuosity pushes! A voice being strengthened..yes,I like that. Starting small….gaining strength and confidence…because of the One. I love that picture of gifting unwrapped, and handing it back to Him. Unpacking the treasure He has placed within…so much to look forward to.
