In Colossians 1, Paul outlines a prayer plan that strengthens the one prayed for in every way. I have used this prayer for my family in general, and for specific instances when it was needed. We can divide Colossians 1:9-14 into seven statements that can be prayed for days. When we go to God for someone else, we approach Him expecting Him to answer. When we are praying His word, we are praying His will.
I pray that ________ be filled with the knowledge of God’s will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
I pray that ________ walk worthy of the Lord in every way.
I pray ________ bear fruit in every good work.
I pray ________ grow in their knowledge of God.
I pray that _________ will be strengthened with all power according to God’s glorious might.
I pray ________ have great endurance and biblical patience to wait for God’s best and His direction.
I pray ________ be bathed with joy because the Father has qualified him / her to share in the inheritance of the saints.
