Do I Need a Job Description for This?

I was recently able to help someone I work for with a new “title” of sorts – Personnel Liaison.  The goal is to assist my boss with communication, team building and growth and development.  This project, like many, is a work in progress.  We know this is needed, but don’t have the complete picture of what it will be or become.

Pregnant Woman 2God is so like this.  He will say, “Here’s what you need to do” but you have no idea what it will look like when it arrives.  It’s a bit like getting pregnant and giving birth – until you see that little face, you don’t know who the child looks like – you or old Aunt Buena.

Many times we soooo want that job description of what He is calling us to do and God says something like, “Draw near to Me.”  And we say, “But what about this thing you asked me to do?!”  And we hear, “Nearness to me will let you know how much I love you, because if you don’t know that, you will be unable to carry out what I created you for.  I love you so much.  Just draw near and let me fill you with my love.”

And we try hard to get that thing done without success, and finally out of desperation, we luggage-82.jpgdraw near and find that if we will allow Him to fill us with that one-of-a-kind love that we now can see and believe and step through the doors that He then opens towards that thing He created us to do.  And it all comes out of that relationship with God.

It. is. really. simple.  And we complicate it!  Let it be simple.  Let God develop and work it all out for you.  Rest in Him and see what happens.  Trust Him to bring that vision to reality and you will not only realize your “job description”, but you will live to fulfill it.  There really is joy in the Lord when we do things His way, when we know who we are because of Him!

Love your posts – they are so thought provoking. I was wondering if you have listened to Arthur Burke’s MRI of Fathering series. It is quite awesome and is about realigning a business’s personel from the inside out. It may be helpful with your new “job description.”
