Driving through the countryside on my first trip to the U.K., I saw the beautiful rolling green pastures where sheep were grazing. There were strong, stone fences dividing the pastures and the flocks. “Where did they get all the rocks? How did they find so many stones?,” I asked.
My driver said, they were in the land and had to be removed, the rough spots leveled out, so that pasture could be planted for flocks to graze there.
Our lives are like that. The rocks and rough spots have to be removed over time in the same way the English landowners painstakingly dug up and removed the rocks from the land, creating something beautiful that would be a blessing.
God is the only one who can search out, find, and gently remove the rocks from our lives, so that we are able to receive more of His blessing and be a blessing to others.
And like the stones that became a fence, God can use our past, our weaknesses, and turn them into something useful and good.
And we know that God causes everything to work together (and are fitting into a plan) for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28)
So give Him all your rocks and become a fertile field of a person, with a beautiful heart, and one that has so much love and goodness to give away that others are always blessed.
Loads of Love & Grace,
