Progress Not Perfection {Don’t Give Up}

God listens, give up, despairWhat you own, where you work, what you wear, where you live – these things do not define who you are. The culture we live in will try to convince you that you must survive life successfully in a certain way. Some who are believers in God will even try to tell you that you cannot become what your heart desires because of your gender, race, age, or income. This is man’s law and has nothing to do with God’s definition of who you are or of what you are capable. The Father has never expected perfection from you. He knows life is messy, but desires progress for you in becoming the amazing person He created.

What is the dream in your heart that won’t keep quiet? You were created to do that – imperfectly! There is no limit with God in who he chooses, calls, and equips for certain tasks. Your future is guaranteed by His Spirit, not dependent on what characterizes your physical life. You were created by God to submit to His leadership of love and to walk in a trusting relationship with Him. He wants you to enjoy your spiritual inheritance as a child of the King, and walk in the destiny He has planned for you. He knows life isn’t easy, so He is always with you to strengthen and encourage your heart.

When the Father sent an angel to tell Mary that she would conceive and give birth to the Messiah, the response of her heart was excellent: “May everything you’ve said about me come true.” She was just a young girl, about 14, willing to say yes and walk out her destiny. The angel responded to her, “For nothing is impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37)

Let the false self with all its efforts of perfection and self-protection fall away and allow the real you God created to shine. Some are afraid of letting too much of themselves show even to God, but not you. You are receiving more of who you are and you are coming to know that if He loves you so much, that He will be the safest place for the revealing of who you were created to be.

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord.

‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.'”

Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

Who you are is defined by the realization of God’s unconditional love that goes down deep into your heart, renewing the mind, and healing the soul. The result is a deep peace inside that comforts, encourage, and propels you forward!

“Who knows but that you were positioned here for such a time as this?”

Ester 4:14

“It’s A Girl!” {Part One}

To all you wonderful daughters of Eve:

Ephesians 1:17-18 (AMP) says this to us:

17  I pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,

18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones).

As you read, I want to release to you an anointing for a fresh revelation of your true identity in God. Until we hear and accept His definition of who we are, we will never live the life He created, designed, and fashioned for us to live.

Rebecca, Hannah 3-7-15As women, we are created to be God’s image bearers. But whose image are we reflecting?

The world is full of definitions of who you are supposed to be – from the women’s magazine with the tummy tuck ad, to the Barbie doll newscasters on TV, and even sometimes to the small thinking church doctrine. Everybody wants to tell you who you are supposed to be, and most of those voices want to try and change you. Whether you are a man or a woman, they want to change you and fill you with questions of fear and doubt. They want to define and paint a picture of your life that’s less than who God says you are.

So who does the Father say that you are? He says you are His masterpiece!

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) says this to us:

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.

In this verse we can find our identity, value, and purpose. A masterpiece is an artist’s greatest work, a one-of-a-kind, original, a “can’t be copied” work of great beauty, design, color, and image.

The Father, our Master Artist, chose everything about you, from your hair color to your eye color to your shoe size. He chose your family of origin, reaching back in the generations before you and pulling forward certain blessings you would need. He chose different parts of your heritage – some parts maybe not so beautiful, but some parts absolutely gorgeous. He planned for you, willing you into existence.

He chose the timing of your birth to be in this generation. He chose the talents, spiritual gifts, and dreams that would be developed for the purpose and call on your life. And He chose your gender.

He chose your gender. He wanted you to be a girl – a girl that would grow up to discover her true identity, true value, and true purpose, and learn to walk in that alongside her brothers. Not behind them or beneath them, but beside them. Not in competition with them, but in a complimentary relationship that displays the full image of God.

“We are a Divine work of art, something that God is making, and therefore something with which He will not be satisfied until it has a certain character.

We are the work which the artist loves intensely, and over this work the artist will take endless trouble, showing his great love for the creation. ― C.S. LewisThe Problem of Pain

We are God’s masterpiece in the making, and out of love He doesn’t stop, He doesn’t stop – until we reflect His image – and all this done with immeasurable love, sweet compassion, and tender care to detail, for we are each His one of a kind unique design, greatly valued, and created for a purposeful life.

You are exceptional, memorable, unconventional, created to make a difference, to add value to life, to solve problems, to bring change where others are desperate for it, for you bring something no one else can or ever will.

That is who you are. You were born on purpose – as a PERFECT PART of the Kingdom of Heaven plan! You were born, purposed by God, and no matter what your birth was like or who was there, when you first breathed air, all of Heaven rejoiced with a shout, “It’s a girl!” “It’s a girl!”
