Prayers

When you pray, let your spirit and soul rest against the One you are seeking. You will find you can tell God anything and He’s not shocked or surprised. Take all your needs, fears, and concerns to Him. He cares for you. Remember to take your gratitude, too.

Lordship of Jesus

The process of Jesus becoming LORD of our lives is the transformation we go through as we learn to yield every area to His healing, recognizing that we need His help.

Lord Jesus, thank you that you died for me and paid the penalty for my sins.  I acknowledge my need of you and accept you as my Savior.  I invite you now to be Lord of my life.
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge my need of You and accept You as my Savior.
I invite you now to be Lord over the whole of my life:
Lord of my human spirit and all my spiritual awareness and worship,
Lord of my mind, attitudes, thoughts, beliefs, and imagination,
Lord of my emotions and the expression of my feelings,
Lord of my will and all my decisions,
Lord of my body, physical health, exercise, diet, rest, and appearance,
Lord of my sexuality and all its expression,
Lord of my family and all my relationships,
Lord of my workplace, and my service to others,
Lord of my material goods and my perceived needs,
Lord of my finances and how I view and handle money,
Lord of my plans, my ambitions, my future, and my destiny.
Lord Jesus, I invite You into every area of my life.
I know You are trustworthy and gentle and want the best for me.
I believe You can work miracles in my life.  Teach me to hear your voice.
Help me to yield my whole life to You.

In Jesus name, Amen.

My decision is for Jesus to come in and to be Lord of my whole life. I choose to submit to His process of transformation. I will share my decision with a trusted friend.

Prayer of Forgiveness

We must be willing to forgive or we will not be forgiven.  (Matthew 6:14-15)  Forgiving others is not just about the one who hurt you.  It is about you.  Forgiveness sets us free so God can heal the wound in us, and opens the way for God to work truth into the life of another.  Remember all we have been forgiven for and ask God to help you be willing.  To always extend the Father heart of forgiveness and draw from the grace well and pour it over someone else is beauty and healing. Even if they haven’t asked for it.

Thank you, Jesus, for dying that I might be forgiven.  By an act of my will I now choose to forgive those who have hurt me…(list the names and what you’re forgiving them for).

I release each and every one into the freedom of my forgiveness and release them unto You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer for Breaking Un-godly Soul Ties

Spiritual ties exist in relationships with the strongest ties being from sexual union.  God designed these connections to bless, but ties can also exist when one has sinned against another or two or more have cooperated in wrong, ungodly behavior or words.  After forgiveness, this prayer is very effective in setting you free from being spiritually connected to another.

In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I proclaim a breaking of the ungodly ties that established between _____ (name of person being prayed for) and ______ (name of individual involved).  I ask you, Lord, to sever that linking in the spiritual realms and to remove from ______ all influence of ______ (name the person again here) and draw back to _______ (first person) every part which has been wrongfully tied in bondage to ______ (second person).

I now speak directly to every evil spirit that has taken advantage of this ungodly tie.  You no longer have any rights here and I order you to leave now without harming ______ (person being prayed for), or any other person and without going into any other member of the family.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Freedom from Fear

Steps to Freedom from Fear (covered in prayer below)

  1. Be real. You can come to God with complete honesty.
  2. Agree with the truth of God’s word about your security, your identity, your destiny in Him
  3. Agree with God that you have given a place to fear and so remove any rights given to the enemy
  4. Stand in authority over any spirit of darkness
  5. Allow the expression of emotions that may have been suppressed and allow God to minister healing into the damaged areas
  6. Choose to make Jesus Lord of every area of your life
  7. Take every thought captive and refuse the “what if’s”

Prayer for Freedom from Fear

Father, I come in Jesus name and I acknowledge my fear and that I have become captive to a fear of ___________. (Express any fearful emotions that you need to tell the Lord about.) I completely surrender my life, Lord Jesus, to you and declare you to be my Lord, my Savior, and my Deliverer.

I ask you, Lord, to forgive me for the times I have not chosen to trust you and have allowed fear to take control over part of my mind and life concerning ____________. I ask you, Jesus, to come and expose the lie that is holding me in this fear and show me Your truth. (Pause to listen for Jesus to speak into your life. You can write the lie and the truth you discover side by side.)

Because I am your child saved through relationship with you, I come in your authority and speak to any spirits of fear in or around me, and I take authority over them in Jesus name. I command you away from my life now – the blood of Jesus has cleansed, justified, and redeemed me, and you have no legal right to oppress me or my family. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I declare I am free from any oppressing spirits of fear.

Lord Jesus, please come now and heal any damaged emotions where I’ve been fearful or frightened at times. I choose to put my trust in you from this point forward concerning _____________. Please help me change the way I respond in situations where I am afraid and not allow fear to control me again.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the healing and freedom I am receiving now. Help me to stand on the truth as you have revealed it to me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer for Leaders, Pastors, Spouses ~ Anyone

In Colossians 1, Paul outlines a prayer plan that strengthens the one prayed for in every way.  I have used this prayer for my family in general, and for Jesus with manspecific instances when it was needed.  We can divide Colossians 1:9-14 into seven statements that can be prayed for days.  When we go to God for someone else, we approach Him expecting Him to answer.  When we are praying His word, we are praying His will.

Sunday
I pray that ________ be filled with the knowledge of God’s will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Monday
I pray that ________ walk worthy of the Lord in every way.

Tuesday
I pray ________ bear fruit in every good work.

Wednesday
I pray ________ grow in their knowledge of God.

Thursday
I pray that _________ will be strengthened with all power according to God’s glorious might.

Friday
I pray ________ have great endurance and biblical patience to wait for God’s best and His direction.

Saturday
I pray ________ be bathed with joy because the Father has qualified him / her to share in the inheritance of the saints.

Please feel free to copy and share.

Amazing reminders!! So many times we forget this is not a one and done but a process God intended over and over as we “pick” up life pieces that are not from the Lord and we give authority over to other things because we forget. Great read!!
